Mr Ajay Mohite MBBS BSc (Hons) FRCOphth
Consultant Ophthalmologist & Vitreoretinal Surgeon
Mr Ajay Mohite is a Consultant Ophthalmologist specialising in vitreoretinal surgery.
He completed a prestigious Vitreoretinal Fellowship at the Royal Free Hospital in
London and has been appointed as a Consultant Vitreoretinal Surgeon at the Royal
Victoria Hospital, Belfast. Mr Mohite brings extensive expertise in treating complex
eye conditions, with a particular focus on retinal detachments, macular surgery, and
advanced cataract procedures. He has performed over 400 vitreoretinal procedures
and more than 1,200 cataract surgeries to date.
A graduate of Imperial College London, Mr Mohite earned his Bachelor of Medicine
and Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS) and Bachelor of Science with Honours before
obtaining Fellowship of the Royal College of Ophthalmologists (FRCOphth, UK).
Mr Mohite is dedicated to surgical excellence and service improvement, having led
several quality improvement projects enhancing surgical efficiency and patient
outcomes. He is actively engaged in academic research, with multiple publications in
peer-reviewed journals, and is passionate about education, regularly teaching
ophthalmology trainees and presenting his work at national and international
conferences.
At Cathedral Eye Clinic, Mr Mohite offers cataract surgery and YAG laser
procedures, and will soon be offering all aspects of vitreoretinal surgery,
providing expert care with a focus on patient safety and outcomes.
