New partnership puts the focus on eyecare
Cathedral Eye Clinic has become the official eye health and laser surgery partner of the Irish Football Association – and its official futsal partner.
The three-year partnership agreement means the Belfast-based clinic is an official partner to the Northern Ireland men’s and women’s senior International football teams, as well as the official partner of the senior men’s and women’s international futsal team and the Northern Ireland Futsal Leagues, which are run by Irish FA.
At the official launch, Northern Ireland senior men’s team manager Michael O’Neill said:
“It’s important that footballers look after their health. Good eye health is just as important as having the right fitness levels. Having visited the facility personally, I am delighted to welcome Cathedral Eye Clinic to the association’s team of official partners as they provide an excellent service.”
Founded and directed by Professor Johnny Moore, Cathedral Eye Clinic was established in 2008 with the clear objective of being the premier centre of ophthalmic (eyecare) excellence on the island of Ireland.
Announcing the new partnership, Prof Moore said:
“Cathedral Eye Clinic is delighted to be partnering with the Irish FA – an organisation that espouses professionalism, inclusivity, teamwork, care and honesty.
“It is clear that, through incorporating these values, the association is making a very positive contribution to society in Northern Ireland, from grassroots to the national women’s and men’s teams, from underage to senior levels.”
The Clinical Director of Cathedral Eye Clinic added:
“Since 2008 our clinic, which contains specialists with more than 200 years combined surgical experience, has been helping to improve the quality of life of many members of the community – across all levels and age groups, including coaches, officials, volunteers, fans and players at both elite and club levels.
“We have achieved this through offering a comprehensive range of laser (including the very latest SMILE laser technology, the only one on the island of Ireland) and lens replacement treatments to both free patients from reliance on glasses; and a range of other treatments to help patients with eye-related issues such as cataracts, macular degeneration, dry eye disease and glaucoma.
“Our clinic very much looks forward to engaging with our partners at the Irish FA in providing eyecare and the latest laser eye treatments that will benefit all members of the wider society in different ways.”
Based in Belfast’s Cathedral Quarter, the company runs the most advanced laser eye surgery treatment clinic in Ireland. In its state-of-the-art facilities it offers a world class, unrivalled patient experience with quality care, clinical excellence and patient safety as key tenets.
Apart from striving to achieve 20/20 vision for its valued patients, Cathedral Eye Clinic continues to offer valuable contributions in the field, spearheading clinical research, innovation in clinical practice and presenting at some of the world’s largest ophthalmic conferences and events.
