FAQ's

There are many causes of double vision (diplopia) and squint (Strabismus). It may be a persistent squint from childhood or a recent onset squint due to an underlying medical condition. During your consultation, our orthoptist will conduct a thorough assessment to determine which eye muscle are involved and will refer you for further investigation of appropriate. 

We aim for consultation appointments within 4 weeks of referral. Our efficient booking system and dedicated administrative team ensure you can access expert care promptly.

Your first appointment will include a comprehensive assessment by our specialist Orthoptist. They will perform detailed measurements; this helps us understand your condition and develop an appropriate treatment plan.

Treatment options vary depending on your specific condition but may include Fresnel prisms (which can be fitted the same day), exercises, or surgery if necessary. Our team will explain all available options and help you make an informed decision about your treatment.

Not all patients require surgery. Many conditions can be managed with non-surgical treatments. If surgery is recommended, we offer direct referral to our expert.

The duration of treatment varies depending on your condition and the chosen treatment path. Some patients may experience improvement quickly with prism therapy, while others may require longer-term management.
