Richard is a Research Optometrist at Cathedral Eye Clinic and has worked at the clinic for over 10 years. He holds a BSc Hons in Optometry and a Doctorate in Philosophy from Ulster University, and is a member of the College of Optometrists.
He is actively involved in research at Cathedral Eye Clinic, with primary interests including the outcomes and safety of cataract and refractive surgery, aiming to improve surgical outcomes. Richard has published over 20 peer-reviewed scientific papers and has presented his work at various international conferences.
