Good vision is wonderful, something many people take for granted, and taking care of it is vital. At Cathedral Eye Clinic our clinical team are committed to only providing the best available treatments at a price affordable to all. We believe in complete care for our patients – from the first phone call until the final post-operative check – so our prices are clear and fair with no hidden extras. The price you pay covers everything involved when you undergo treatment, such as your surgery and any post-operative reviews which we feel you may need for up to a year after surgery.

At Cathedral Eye Clinic each patient is comprehensively assessed to determine what treatment or combination of treatments is best for them. This means that the procedure that the patient undergoes is quite often unique in order to meet their needs. A specific price therefore can’t always be determined without an extensive assessment of the patient’s eye condition. By calling 028 9032 2020 one of our patient administrators will be able to you provide you with an indication of the price of the treatments we offer.

Note: YAG Laser Capsulotomy

A laser procedure called YAG laser capsulotomy is commonly required to sharpen vision 6 months to 3 years after cataract surgery/RLE.

The formation of a secondary cataract can occur – a condition where the skin of the old lens becomes cloudy. About one in five patients will suffer this complication in the two years following surgery.

It is easily treated with a straight-forward laser treatment (YAG laser capsulotomy) while you are fully awake and sitting in a chair. No anaesthetic is needed. The total charge per eye for this procedure and review (including initial consultation) is £350 unilateral, £500 bilateral. Please note that this will be in addition to the fee paid for your procedure.

Frequently Asked Questions

What are the hidden costs?

In a nutshell, there aren’t any. The price we quote is the price you will pay – and not a penny more. Our treatment price covers your surgery and its subsequent follow up appointments, how ever many there may be, within a full year after your appointment. Many other laser eye or lens replacement treatments charge extra for additional post operative checks, so be sure to check the small print when choosing your clinic. Additionally in the very unlikely event that you should require additional surgery, or an amendment to your procedure, we will take care of you until the very end at no additional cost to you. Guaranteed. Our team comprises of fully qualified ophthalmologists, covering all aspects of eye health and care, so whatever your issue, you know you are being looked after.

Can I use my Private Health Insurance policy?

Cathedral Eye Clinic is recognised by most private health insurance companies. Depending on the reason for your treatment and which treatment you require, you may be able to get some or all of your consultation and/or treatment covered through your policy. Our Patient care team will be able to assist you through this process.

Can I afford it?

We understand that undergoing surgery is a big decision for anyone to make – both for your lifestyle and for your pocket. We hope to make the decision making process as clear and easy as possible, so we offer interest free finance for 12 months, or for longer terms, a low rate of 9.9% APR for up to 5 years if you would prefer. In other words, you could rid yourself of glasses for as little as the cost of your daily cup of coffee…..
